Tourism: Spectacular 60% surge in American arrivals in Luxembourg!
Earlier this week, Luxembourg's Minister of Tourism, Lex Delles, presented the latest official tourism data, and the results show amazing growth for the Grand Duchy. While overall arrivals increased by 3% and overnight stays grew by 6% year-over-year, the absolute biggest highlight of the report is a massive wave of visitors from the United States, showcasing a spectacular 60% surge in American arrivals and a 38% increase in overnight stays by US travelers.
Tourists are falling in love with Luxembourg for its unmatched heritage, deeply moving remembrance tourism, ancestry research for new Luxembourg passport holders, and world-class sustainable travel options, with modern and free public transport throughout the country. Historic icons like the fairytale Vianden Castle and the underground Bock Casemates in Luxembourg City remain top destinations for culture lovers. Meanwhile, active travelers are heading to the great outdoors to explore the world-famous Mullerthal Trail or to enjoy the innovative "Wine & Hike" experiences in the stunning Moselle wine region. Starting April 2nd, 2027, reaching Luxembourg from the United States will even become easier, thanks to a nonstop daily Newark-Luxembourg flight, operated by United Airlines.
