Classical concert featuring Mrs. Naama Liany (Mezzo Soprano) & Mr. Brook Speltz (Cellist)

Consul General Mr. Luc Decker hosted a classical  concert & reception on Wednesday May 27th, at the Luxembourg House in New York City. Over 50 persons were present. This concert featured Mrs. Naama Liany, Mezzo Soprano, in collaboration with cellist Mr. Brook Speltz, in a program of beloved works for Voice and String Quartet. Violinists Katie Hyun, Siwoo Kim & violist Luke Fleming joined the ensemble as well.
 

Mrs. Liany is a French Israeli Mezzo-Soprano, based in Luxembourg.  Mrs. Liany has been hailed as “One of today’s most promising singers”. Liany’s life story bridges continents, leading from her native Israel to New York City to Paris to her current home in Luxembourg. Her acclaimed programs of 20th-century repertoire span styles and decades, finding common ground between Milhaud and Gershwin, Mompou, and Bernstein. Mrs. Liany describes her performances as a matter of, “taking music that I love and that speaks to me, and finding my own voice in it. Mr. Speltz is an American, who recovered his Luxembourg citizenship recently; he is part of the Escher Quartet. Mr. Speltz has been praised for his “fluid virtuosity” and “soulful melodies”. An extremely versatile cellist, Mr. Speltz has performed as a soloist, chamber musician, and recitalist throughout the US, Canada, Latin America, Europe, and Asia. A lover of all facets of the music world, Mr. Speltz has enjoyed performing on extensive tours with the cello rock band Break of Reality, whose online video of the Game of Thrones cover immediately went viral and has already received over 8.5 million views.
