Family Party for Saint Nicolas
For the second edition of this "family celebration," the Consul General opened the doors of the Maison du Luxembourg to welcome Luxembourgish families and friends of the Grand Duchy. Thirty-three children and their parents were present, the youngest being only nine months old and the oldest fourteen.
The event was sponsored by Ferrero. Pastries, fresh fruit, and boxemännchen (a type of brioche) were served, as well as chocolate Saint Nicholas figures, transported in "carry-on luggage" from Genaveh in Luxembourg. Beverages included coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and mulled wine. A coloring session kept the children entertained before the highlight of the morning: the arrival of Saint Nicholas, announced by the ringing of a bell. Each parent participated by bringing a gift for their children, which Saint Nicholas, assisted by the Consul General, would then present. Many beautiful family photos were taken and shared with the families. Everyone, young and old, was delighted.
