About the film “365 degree” and the artists:

In the light of current trends, 365 degree questions the evolution of art in an increasingly digitalized, over-designed and impersonal world. The film combines image and sound in a unique approach combining classical techniques with high-tech media.

The visual part is based on the Digital Drawings, a series of works by which Pit Molling attempts to digitalize Nature by reproducing its elementary structures in digital form. In terms of artistic approach, the hand drawn 2-D images were created using a pen on touchscreen not only to weave a bridge between two worlds, but also to question the veracity and self-evidence of the virtual world through art.

The image formation is responding the dramaturgy of the music which has been written, arranged, recorded and mastered by Max Molling. Through his composition, Max Molling is expressing his thoughts about the imposed restrictions on humankind by natural structures such as physics, time and space, and his struggle to expand these cycles to gain freedom by creation. Together, the drawings in motion and the orchestral sound become a powerful unit.

Created in 2013-2014 with the support of: Œuvre Nationale de Secours Grande-Duchesse Charlotte - start up; Ministry of Culture; and FOCUNA - Fonds culturel national,  365 degree was presented at the Philharmonie Luxembourg in April 2014. The video projection was accompanied by a live orchestral performance by the Luxembourg Studio Orchestra, directed by Yvan Boumans.
