Born in Chennai, India, Rini[Harini S. Raghavan] is a New York based Singer, Songwriter and Violinist who blends Indian Classical and Popular music with Electronica and Rock. She has numerus performances and recordings to her credit, including recordings with Grammy winning composer A.R. Rahman and Bill Whelan. She is a graduate of the Berklee College of Music with a Major in Electronic Production and Design.  She is an upcoming musical presence amongst the Indian diaspora in the US, performs across the country, and is a regular in New York City venues such as Silvana, Rockwood Music Hall, Bowery Electric and Alphabet Lounge. She recently released her first EP “Kural”, available on CD Baby, Spotify, iTunes, and other digital outlets. www.rinimusic.com

 

Of Indian descent, Achal Murthy was born and raised in Luxembourg (Strassen). His musical journey through the many facets of the bass guitar started in 2008. That same year he attended the Jazz Department of the Luxembourg National Conservatory, under the guidance of Gast Walzing, David Laborier, Guy Cabet, and Jacques Pirotton. Upon finishing his electric bass studies with Romain Heck, Achal took up the upright bass, commencing his studies with Marc Demuth at the Conservatory of Echternach. Mainly focusing on Jazz, Murthy developed a keen interest in a wide variety of musical styles, ranging from progressive hard rock, traditional folk and of course classical music.  Murthy is currently studying at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston.
